Katherine Heigl Instagrammed this photo of her daughter Naleigh with the caption “Love this kids [sic] fashion sense!” I hope she’s talking about the dog statue (nice collar), because Naleigh’s outfit is pretty bland and boring, and she totally stole the boots idea from yours truly.
So Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley have adopted another baby girl. They have not yet shared where she is from, how old she is, or her name.
I have, however, gone ahead and sent her the paperwork for the Katherine Heigl Unappreciation Society. The initiation process is complicated, so she’s going to want to submit her application early. Right now, membership is limited to me, Naleigh Kelley, Leslie Mann, and … oh, wait — everyone else in the universe and probably beyond.
Katherine Heigl trotted young Naleigh out again, this time on The View. Watch above as she tries to make it look spontaneous — an impromptu mother/daughter cuddle time — and fails miserably.
That child was trained, and her mother probably had a fistful of treats in her pocket.
Katherine Heigl makes Elisabeth Hasselbeck look like a party and a half. A fun party.
Wow. The Heigl-Kelleys sure want that Naleigh to be famous and it is just not happening.
First, Katherine Heigl brought Naleigh out for an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which — first of all — is so not the venue for a late-night debut. (I myself am waiting for an invitation from Charlie Rose.)
Despite Heigl’s desperate claims that Naleigh is “hammy” and “likes applause,” the recalcitrant toddler sat quietly and did not cooperate with her mother’s plans. “She loves a crowd that loves her. She’ll be shy right now, but she loves applause,” she swore. Doesn’t Naleigh know what happens to people who cross Katherine Heigl?
Dad Josh Kelley, from offstage (as I assume he usually is in this family), told Naleigh to just be herself. He’s probably going to have his allowance docked, because I do not think that’s what his wife wanted.
Naleigh is also the star of Mr. Kelley’s new video for the song “Naleigh Moon.” It’s sweet, I guess, but look — not every celebrity child is going to be famous in his or her own right. (Some surpass expectations, but we are few and far between.)
What I’m trying to say is — stop trying to make Naleigh Kelley happen. It isn’t going to happen.
Oh, and your “home movies” look extremely unprofessional. J.J. Abrams shoots all of ours.
Who wore it best?!
Several Hollywood children — including (clockwise from top left) Honor Warren, Sam Woods, Anja Mazur, and Naleigh Kelley, as if I needed to tell you — dressed up as Disney Princesses for Halloween, to varying degrees of success.
Sam Woods really phoned this one in, while Honor obviously committed fully to her portrayal of Jasmine. (Bare feet! What a risk!) Anja’s tiara is completely out of character for Belle, and I’ve already given my opinion on Naleigh’s half-painted face.
As for who’s the best Disney Princess clotheshorse of all time? That’s not even a question.
Katherine Heigl’s campaign to make people stop thinking she’s an evil witch continues to be a massive failure.
Actually, are we sure that outfit was for Halloween and not just, like, Thursday?
Naleigh, you look cute. Sorry your mom couldn’t take the time to paint a whole butterfly on your face.
Katherine Heigl’s daughter Naleigh is apparently a budding fashionista, according to Us Magazine:
"Naleigh loves clothes. She’s a total girly girl, and she put on these crazy stiletto shoes and could walk in them! She’s three years old and her foot is this big, but she could like walk around in these stilettos that I think are impossible to walk in," the Knocked Up actress laughed.
Heigl told Us Naleigh is “really chatty now” and even gets “this whole attitude.”
"Not a bad attitude," she clarified. "But like a very grown-up, saucy attitude that blows my mind. I don’t know where she’s picking it up, and I hope it’s not from me! That would be very upsetting."
But even though Naleigh is a total girly girl, she actually prefers dad over mom. “She’s a really daddy’s girl, so she’s always liked [Josh] better than me.”
I approve of Naleigh’s fashion choices, although she should probably get some shoes in her size. (Disclaimer: I’m not sure how much of this is an actual story and how much of it is just Katherine Heigl lying to make her daughter seem chic.)
The awkward thing about Katherine Heigl interviews is that she can’t seem to let her faults go. You have to act like the past never happened. Do you see Tom reliving the Oprah Couch Incident or the Matt Lauer Incident or anything about Valkyrie? No.
And yet at every turn, Katherine Heigl loves reminding people that she is a known shrew — of course her daughter’s bad attitude came from her — and that Naleigh dislikes her.
Ugh, why did I just spend so much time talking about these people? Gross.
I think I could be friends with Naleigh Kelley, daughter of Katherine Heigl. Not just because the print on that dress is super-cute and because having Asian friends is trendy, but also because the rumor is that Naleigh doesn’t really like her mom. (And by rumor, I mean Mrs. Kelley has talked about it in the press.)
I can relate because my relationship with my mother is complicated, too, and also because Katherine Heigl is JUST THE WORST.
